Report & Photos from the 2024 Democratic National Convention

Well let’s start with this. I have been to a number of conventions and conferences over the years as a union apprenticeship instructor/ director and administrator. Those never prepared me for this.

It was amazing; the atmosphere was electric. All the delegates I encountered were extremely upbeat, excited, and full of energy. The Missouri delegation was beyond fantastic with great leadership and fantastic support staff always ready to help with whatever needed done.

The caucuses I attended were great. I attended caucuses for labor council, seniors and rural council, and each provided great information. We discussed the needs of each, where we go from here, and ideas on how we get there.

The convention itself was beyond words. The speakers were phenomenal, each bringing the delegates and crowd to a new level of excitement – lighting up the crowd up and sparking energy levels that one could not imagine.

Every speaker had their own message, but still managed to convey the same idea. Of course, it all culminated with the speech by our next President: Kamala Harris. Her speech was one of the greatest I have ever heard: enlightening, encouraging and invigorating.

Finally, thanks to everyone who supported the delegates. I appreciated the opportunity to represent not only Platte County and the 6th Congressional district, but the State of Missouri as well.
