Black History Month: Celebrating Jamie Johnson

In 2022, Jamie Johnson made history as the first Black person elected to represent House District 12, a Platte County district, in the Missouri Legislature—a milestone that reflected her dedication to progress, representation, and community empowerment.

During her time in office, Jamie was a relentless advocate for working families, championing policies that expanded economic opportunity, protected voting rights, and ensuring every Missourian had a fair shot at success. Notably, she secured over $20 million in budget allocations to fund vital local projects that directly benefit our community.

As we continue to celebrate Black History Month, we honor trailblazers like Jamie, whose leadership broke barriers and paved the way for future generations.
