Congratulations, Peter Coyne!
ST. LOUIS (September 14, 2024): Peter Coyne, chair of the Platte County DCC, has been awarded “Young Democrat of the Year” by the Missouri Democratic Party. The honor was announced at the state party’s 11th Annual Truman Dinner.
According to the event website, this award “recognizes the exceptional efforts of a young (under 30) member of our party whose years belie the impact that [they] have already had in making our state a better place. Nominees for this award are up-and-coming organizers, activists, and advocates – the future of our party, and a shining inspiration today.”
In addition to leading our county’s Democrats, Peter is a legislative aide at the Missouri House of Representatives for Independence Rep. Aaron Crossley (Dist. 29) and Kansas City Rep. Patty Lewis (Dist. 25).
A 2020 graduate of the University Nebraska-Lincoln, he served as Operations Director for the Nebraska Democratic Party in 2020-2021.
