Know your November Ballot
There is More Work to be Done!
We know there has been a lot of chaos in Missouri politics lately. Last week the Missouri Supreme Court settled a big court battle over Missouri’s 2025 gerrymandered Congressional map. Secretary of State Denny Hoskins has now directed local election officials to use the 2022 maps for the November election.
The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals can still have something to say, but what we do know is Proposition A will be on the November ballot. People Not Politicians of MO says, “The politicians’ gerrymandered map has never been the law and never will be the law when we vote NO on Proposition A this November.”
The November ballot also has amendments we need to be educated and ready to vote on. Amendment 3 (yes, the same number) but a different vote- Abortion Action MO urges a VOTE NO ON 3 (Stop the Ban)! Amendment 3 is an attempt to impose a near total ban on abortion in Missouri and remove the reproductive rights protections the majority of voters already approved statewide in 2024.
Amendment 6 – VOTE YES! The only yes on the ballot, to protect the initiative petition process. Respect MO Voters says, “Vote Yes, to Stop the Tricks!” This stops lawmakers from undermining the will of the voters.
Vote NO on Amendments 7 and 8. Amendment 7 would create a public endowment fund called the “Show-Me Prosperity Fund.” It is another shell game with our taxes, where we would not see the prosperity in our pockets. Amendment 8 requires the election of most county sheriffs and limits ways they can be removed from office. This reduces local oversight and accountability.
Let’s also remember the Republicans who voted to put these unpopular ballot issues on our ballots and they will continue unless we show up and vote! We need to elect Democrats who will go to Jefferson City and Washington, D.C., to actually represent us and not continue to ignore the will of the voters or pass unpopular or harmful laws.
There is work to be done! How do we do this? Support our candidates! Show up and make a plan to vote!

- October 7th – Last day to register to vote
- October 20-Absentee voting begins no-excuse
- October 21-Deadline for mailed absentee ballot requests

The positions on Proposition A and amendments for the November 2026 election have been endorsed by the Missouri Democratic Party. Formal approval of the state party endorsements will occur at a future meeting of the Platte County Democratic Central Committee.
