Meet the Candidates Virtual Forum: MO State House

Your vote matters! Learn about the candidates for Platte County’s Missouri House districts, including Democrats Jamie Johnson (Dist.12 incumbent), Andrea Denning (Dist. 13 candidate), and Ashley Aune (Dist. 14 incumbent). State representatives work alongside the governor to create laws and establish a state budget. Responsibilities include passing bills on public policy matters, setting levels for state spending, raising and lowering taxes, and voting to uphold or override gubernatorial vetoes. State representatives are limited to four 2-year terms.

This event is sponsored by the League of Women Voters Kansas City / Jackson-Clay-Platte Counties, a nonpartisan political organization. The League neither supports nor opposes candidates or political parties.

Then on your phone: open the Google Calendar app, go to Settings, find Platte County Dems under your account, and switch it on. Subscribed calendars stay hidden on phones until you do. Google also checks for new events about once a day, so a brand-new event can take up to 24 hours to appear.

  1. Open Outlook on the web and click Add calendar
  2. Choose Subscribe from web
  3. Paste the address above, give it a name, and click Import

Like Google, Outlook refreshes on its own schedule rather than instantly.
